Snyder, Alice S.

Alice S. Snyder, 97, of Lititz, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Landis Homes, Lititz. Born on February 17, 1923, in Warwick Township, she was the daughter of the late Jacob B. and Fannie N. Stauffer Snyder.
Graduating in 1940 from Lititz High School, she was a member of Lititz Mennonite Church. Alice served with Eastern Mennonite Missions and the Mennonite Mission in Ethiopia. Afterwards, she worked with the Tabor Community Services and Menno Housing in Lancaster until retirement.
Preceding her in death are her siblings, Alma S., Martha E., and Guy S. Snyder as well as two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wilson Snyder and Myrtle Bushong Snyder.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Alice's graveside service on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Hess Mennonite Church Cemetery, Clay Road, Lititz at 10:00 AM.

Snyder, Esther W. Stauffer
March 13, 1930 - June 8, 2020
Esther W. Snyder, 90, of New Holland, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 8, 2020, at home.
Born in East Earl she was the youngest child of the late Isaac S. and Hettie (Weaver) Stauffer. She was the wife of the late Harry W. Snyder who preceded her in death in November of 2007.
A homemaker, Esther was a member of New Holland Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).
Esther is survived by eight children, Lucy, wife of Leon Hoover of Shippensburg, Esther, wife of Melvin Hoover of New York, Minerva, wife of Harvey Leid, also of New York, Lydia, wife of Timothy Weaver of Martinsburg, Harry, husband of Edna (Shirk) Snyder of Woodbury, Marlin, husband of Wilma (Zimmerman) Snyder of Martinsburg, Arlene Snyder, Emma Snyder, both of New Holland; a daughter-in-law, Irene (Leinbach) Snyder, wife of the late Ammon Snyder. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Anna Stauffer; 55 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 33 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ammon, Cleason and Clemen Snyder; two grandsons, John Mark Snyder and Lawrence Hoover; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Willis, Eli, George, Isaac and Daniel Stauffer and a sister, Lydia Martin. She was the last of her immediate family.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the residence of Leon Stauffer, 138 Linden Grove Road, New Holland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, 12:30 PM at the residence of Leon Stauffer, with further services at 1:00 PM from the New Holland Mennonite Church, E. Huyard Road, New Holland, with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Sonifrank, Linden Daniel
October 23, 1942 - September 19, 2020
Linden Daniel Sonifrank, 77, a resident of Dayton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. Mr. Sonifrank was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late George and Clara Crider Sonifrank.
He owned and operated Soniman’s Furniture. He loved to hunt and spend time in the mountains. He was a member of Bank Mennonite Church.
On Dec. 23, 1972, he married Nellie Lahman Sonifrank, who passed away June 2, 2016.
Surviving are his children, Grace Glenn of Dayton, Patricia Beery of Mount Crawford, Cecil Sonifrank and wife, Gloria, of Dayton, Rebecca Pletcher and husband, Phillip, of Indiana; siblings, David Sonifrank (Janet) of Singers Glen, Arlene Miller (Robert) of Fulks Run, Lillie Lahman (Floyd) of Rockingham, Janet Thompson (Jeffrey) of Rockingham; brothers-in-law, James Horst of Weyers Cave, Roger Kulp of Indiana; sister-in-law, Eva Sonifrank Glanzer of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Dustin Beery, Cheyanne Beery, Alicia Hoover and husband, Jordan, Sabrina Pletcher, Abigail Pletcher, Trenton Pletcher; and a great-grandson, Barrett Hoover.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Sonifrank was preceded in death by a son, Dean Sonifrank; siblings, Clifton Sonifrank, Beulah Estep and husband, Thomas, Oma Sonifrank, Carolyn Sonifrank, Loretta Horst, Nona Kulp and Nolan Sonifrank.
Ministers of the church will conduct a graveside service Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at Bank Cemetery at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends outside at Bank Mennonite Church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are encouraged.
Stauffer, Anna S.
November 9, 1936 - March 26, 2020
Anna S. Stauffer, 83, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Penn Twp., Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia (Stauffer) Stauffer.
Anna loved people and loved serving. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse who worked for Reading Hospital for many years. She enjoyed being a nurse. She was active in the work of Weaverland Mennonite Church. She was involved in sewing circle. She did beautiful quilting and knotted countless comforters used by the Mennonite Central Committee for relief work. She was active in volunteer work in the community. She loved her family, all her nieces and nephews and their children, and grandchildren. Loved by many, she will be missed by many. She would say. "I live alone, but I am not alone; Jesus is with me."
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Auker and Dorothy Martin.
Due to the current public health crisis, services will be private. A memorial service scheduled at a later date. Burial will be in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Weaverland Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd., East Earl, PA 17519. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
Stauffer, Carol Ann Sensenig
May 30, 1948 - November 9, 2020
Carol Ann Stauffer, 72, of East Earl, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital.
She was the wife of Edwin W. Stauffer. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Luke M. and Thelma A. Lehman Sensenig.
Carol was a graduate of Palmyra High School and had worked for many years as a secretary for Weaver Construction. She was a member of the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community. Her interests included scrapbooking, crafts, and genealogy research with contributions to several family history books. Carol enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and soaking up the sun whether on a beach or the back porch.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Glenn E. husband of Sharon King Stauffer of New Holland, and Loren A. husband of Connie Zeiset Stauffer of Narvon; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Helen wife of Doug Zimmerman of Marietta, and Nancy wife of Andy Yehl of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Harold Sensenig of Hummelstown.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Jean Stauffer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00 P.M. at the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA The family will greet friends following the service. Interment in the Goodville Mennonite Church Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Stauffer, Harvey G.
January 12, 1936 - December 3, 2020
On Jan. 12, 1936, Harvey G. Stauffer, formerly of Beaver Springs, was born to Phares O. and Lizzie (Gehman) Stauffer on the family farm in Selinsgrove, Pa. He was welcomed into the family by older siblings Martha, Titus, and Anna Mary; later he helped welcome younger siblings Ida, Phares (Sonny), Sally (the only surviving sibling), and John.
Although Pap joked that he attended Kantz University, he was referring to attending a one-room schoolhouse in Kantz through 8th grade.
On Oct. 26, 1957, Pap established a new Stauffer home when he married Reba Neitz. They made their home on the farm where he was employed in Selinsgrove. They raised four children on the farm - Shirley (Mark, deceased) Pheasant; Dan Stauffer (who died Oct 26, 2000); Janet (Marvin) Shirey; and Jeff (Amy) Stauffer.
Pap farmed for 37 years. He took great pride in his job and especially in keeping his equipment in mint condition. After his health forced him to retire from farming, he continued to be interested in farming. He was always checking out crops growing alongside the road, farm equipment being used in the fields, and attending tractor pulls where he'd talk farming with anyone possible.
He was also employed by Bingaman & Son Lumber in Kreamer, Pa., as a mechanic and a night watchman for several years following his retirement from the farm.
Pap was active in church for many years. He would often attend local revival services in addition to regular church attendance. Most recently, he faithfully attended Beavertown God's Missionary Church anytime the church doors were open.
He was a faithful man of God, humble, hardworking, and always friendly. He managed to strike up conversations with strangers anywhere he went! Pap especially enjoyed getting to have conversations in his first language, Pennsylvania Dutch.
He was fondly known as Pap or Pappy Stauffer to his 11 grandchildren - Jeremy, Christina, Timothy, Angela, Paula, Jonathan, Benjamin, Hannah, Corey, Morgan, and Carman - as well as to his 12 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Pap enjoyed spending time with all the generations of his family over the years, from giving tractor rides up the lane on the farm in earlier years to coaxing smiles from the babies in recent times. He was a great storyteller and had many adventures to share from throughout his 84 years of living.
Early this year, Pap relocated to Valley View Haven in Belleville, where he received excellent care and enjoyed socializing with staff and participating in activities.
On Dec. 3, 2020, Pap was reunited with his wife of 46 years when he went to Heaven and met Jesus face to face.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Beavertown God's Missionary Church, corner of Covered Bridge and Creek roads, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Plank, Rev. Solomon Shaffer and Rev. Matthew Maloyed officiating. Burial will be at the Wayside Bible Church Cemetery Middleburg. For those who can't attend, the service will be livestreamed at www.beavertownchurch.com.
Contributions to honor Harvey's memory may be sent to his daughter, Janet Shirey, 1143 Polecat Road, East Freedom, PA, 16637 for a fund to be given to the employees who took care of Harvey at Valley View Haven.

Stauffer, Howard S.
July 20, 1925 - April 22, 2020
Howard S. Stauffer, 94, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 as loved ones sang him into the presence of the Lord.
Howard was born July 20, 1925 to the late Henry W. and Emma (Snyder) Stauffer. He married Ruth (Brubaker) Stauffer with whom he had five sons. They were married almost 33 years when she passed away on August 1, 1981. He then married Arlene (Weaver) Stauffer in November 1982. Together they enjoyed over 37 years of marriage at their home in the woods until their move to Pleasant View Communities in November.
Howard enjoyed raising his boys on the Stauffer family farm where they became known for their delicious homegrown celery. Later he worked at various businesses, finishing his years of employment at Bomberger's Store in Lititz at the age of 85. He enjoyed volunteering with Arlene at Mount Joy Gift and Thrift Shop into his 90's.
In addition to his wife Arlene, he is survived by five sons and their wives: J. Richard (Jean Witmer), Bellefonte, PA; Robert (Doris High), Black Duck MN; Steven (Faye Lentz), Lititz, PA; James (Carolyn Geib), Lititz, PA; and Frederick (Debra Boll), Manheim, PA. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Grace Stauffer.
In addition to his parents and first wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Stauffer, his sister, Helen Hernley Keiper, and a great-granddaughter.
Howard was a lifelong member of Kauffman Mennonite Church, Manheim, where he served as song leader and trustee for many years. He was also an invaluable member of the team that produced the church's live nativity in the barn for twenty-five years.
He had a great sense of humor and wit and enjoyed a good prank; was gifted with ingenuity, coming up with inventions to meet any need he or others had; loved music, especially singing with his family; enjoyed the outdoors, camping with his family into his 90's, going to the family cabin in Juniata County with his boys for deer hunting, sitting on his chair in the woods at home watching squirrels, rabbits, and birds; was a creative woodworker and craftsman; could play a mean game of Rook; had a great time watching church league softball in the summer time; found great satisfaction in growing vegetables and flowers. Above all he had utmost honor and respect for God and his Word, which guided every aspect of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Stauffer, Jeannie L. Weaver
December 29, 1980 - August 11, 2020
Jeannie L. Stauffer, 39, of Port Trevorton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at her home. She was the wife of Noah A. Stauffer, who survives. The couple were married 13 plus years at the time of her passing.
Jeannie was born Dec. 29, 1980, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Marie S. (Martin) Weaver of Port Trevorton and the late Allen M. Weaver.
Jeannie was a member of Stauffer's Mennonite Church-Verdilla District. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, James W. Stauffer at home; a brother, Brandon A. Weaver husband of Carol S.; two sisters, Anita Stauffer wife of Levi B. and Julie Weaver; numerous nieces and nephews; and her father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Daniel B. and Lucie B. Stauffer.
Jeannie was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Weaver; and her mother-in-law, Ellen Stauffer.

A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at the family home, 1218 Chapman Hollow Road, Port Trevorton, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the family home with further services at 9 a.m. at Stauffer's Mennonite Church-Verdilla District, Produce Road, Port Trevorton.

Stauffer, Mary B. Stauffer
August 6, 1927 - April 5, 2020
Mary B. Stauffer, 92, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Ephrata Hospital.
She was married 72 years to Horace R. Stauffer. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Mary Brubacher Stauffer.
Mary was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of the Centerville Mennonite Church.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Kenneth married to Carolene Trego Stauffer, and Clifford married to Mary Oberholtzer Stauffer; a daughter, Kathleen married to Timothy Nissley; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eli married to Ruth Martin Stauffer.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a graveside service in the Centerville Mennonite Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Eckenroth Home For Funerals, Terre Hill, PA.
Stauffer, Mary Ellen Fox Erb
June 12, 1944 - November 27, 2020
Myerstown - Mary Ellen Stauffer, 76, of Myerstown, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 27, 2020, at her residence. She was the wife of Samuel Stauffer. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past September.
Born in Lancaster County on June 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Verna (Horning) Fox. Mary Ellen attended Richland Mennonite Church. She was a loving wife and faithful mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons David Scott husband of Joanne Erb of Lebanon, Michael Lee husband of Mary Jane Stauffer of Tower City, Jeremy Lynn husband of Judith Stauffer of Sunbury and Joshua Conrad husband of Elaine Stauffer of Fredericksburg; daughters Linda Ruth (Erb) wife of Marvin Martin of Lebanon, Christina Joy wife of Jason Brubaker of Bethel, Jewel Ann wife of Steven Dyck of Texas and Michelle wife of Kendall Martin of Winfield; 43 grandchildren; brothers J. Ervin Fox of Reading, Harvey Fox Jr., John Earl Fox and Stanley Fox, all of Ephrata; sisters Ruth Ann Bowman of New Holland, Vera Martin of Ephrata, Verna Good of Virginia, Lena Hostetter of Terre Hill and Joan Nolt of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her first husband David Erb, a grandchild, brothers Carl and Charles Fox, and sister Arlene Fox.

Stauffer, Mary W. Sensenig
October 28, 1918 - December 12, 2020
Mary W. Stauffer, 102, born Oct. 28, 1918 during a pandemic, passed away Dec. 12, 2020 during a pandemic.
Born at home in Frysville, East Cocalico Township, to Samuel and Mary Ella (Wanner) Sensenig, Mary attended Lincoln Independent School through the 8th grade. Because of her aptitude ability the teacher encouraged her to enroll in High School. Due to lack of transportation, she instead worked on the family farm and did domestic work for various households in the area.
Ivan W. Stauffer caught her eye, and they were married Easter Sunday morning April 9, 1944. They were married 66 years when Ivan passed away in 2010. Ivan and Mary were blessed with 5 children, Thelma Brown (Carl), Charlotte Shaffer (Larry), Adele Fisher, Marlon (Ruth Burkholder), June Groff (Richard), 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings Paul, Dora, Wilmer, and Stella, and great-grandchildren Ryan and Micah.
The Stauffer family lived on a hobby farm between Martindale and Red Run where they raised a menagerie of animals, whether it be a calf, pig, pony, sheep, goats, chickens, cats, or dogs. But Mary is best known for her love of and expertise of Capri culture.
An avid quilter, she quilted until the age of 88; other hobbies included smocking, sewing, baking, reading, flower and vegetable gardening.
As a teenager Mary accepted Jesus as her Savior while attending Kempers Church of the Brethren.
A member of Blue Ball Church of the Brethren, she served as a dedicated deacon's wife, taught Sunday School and Bible School, hosted evangelists, and was part of the sewing circle. As a volunteer, Mary quilted at local fire companies, Brethren Village, and did mending for Ephrata Hospital.
She attributes her longevity to drinking goat's milk and to the Bible verse, "Honor your Father and Mother that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee."
A special thank you to the caregivers at Fairmount Homes and Hospice.
Per Mary's request a private graveside service was held.
Stauffer, Milton
December 6, 1927 - October 19, 2020
Milton Stauffer, 92, of Harrisonburg, Va., was born on Dec. 6, 1927, and passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Beck Stauffer; daughter, Jeanie Stauffer; parents, Rudolph (Rudy) and Sylvia Stauffer; brother, Clyde, and stepsister, Linda.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Beverly (John Augsburger), Tom (Elaine Warfel), Kay (Larry Mills), and Paula (William Glass). He was an adoring grandfather to Miriam (Nathaniel) Fairfield, Karla Stauffer (Caleb Hill), Seth (Janice) Mills, Hannah (Nathan) Broeckleman, Sophie Mills, Annie Mills, Cooper Glass and Alina Glass, and great-grandfather to Thomas, Ruth, and Esther Fairfield; Myah, Aubrey, and Elliana Mills; and Kashton, Declan, and Tayla Broeckleman. He is survived by his brothers, Elmer and Pete; sister, Mary Kandel; and stepsiblings, Lois Ramer and Rudy Lee Stauffer.
During his life, Milton was an active member of several communities. He grew up as a preacher’s son in Wayne County, Ohio. After his marriage to Pauline they moved to Mt. Gilead, Ohio, where they farmed and raised their five children. They helped to start a Mennonite church, served as youth group leaders, and volunteered with Mennonite Disaster Service throughout the years. In the mid-1970s, he and his family moved to their ranch in Kansas, lured by the wide-open spaces, rich grasslands and flowing streams in the Flint Hills. At age 90, he sold his last load of cattle, sold the ranch, and moved to Harrisonburg, Va. to be closer to family.
Milton was known for his youthful sense of fun and adventure, his wide, infectious grin, and his strong work ethic. He had an indomitable spirit in spite of facing much sorrow and loss. He was someone to call on when help was needed, and he had a great deal of empathy for those who had suffered grief or hardship. He was a man of strong faith. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, and we are fortunate to have had him in our lives. May the richness of his life and love continue to resonate with us all. In memory of Milton Stauffer, his request was for each of us to share our gifts, time, and resources with neighbors who are in need.
A virtual memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Roy W. Stauffer, 90, of Lititz, PA went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020 at the Hospice and Community Care Center in Mount Joy. He was the faithful loving husband of Anna Mary Martin Stauffer for 61 years until she preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by children, Jay husband of Janice Sollenberger, Jere husband of Jo L. Miller, Jeffrey husband of Sandra Weaver, Joann wife of Jim Mellinger, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Tanya (Mark Whiteman), Kimberly (Joel Ernst), Brandon Stauffer, Vaughn Stauffer (Erika Jenkins), Brianna (Daniel Justice), Jamie Mellinger III, (Bryana Unangst), Mitchell Mellinger, and nine great-grandchildren.
Roy was the eldest child of Roy M. and Florence W. Stauffer of Lititz. He is survived by siblings, Rhoda (Jay Oberholtzer), Martha (James Garber), Earl Stauffer (Linda Hoover), James Stauffer (Sue Risser), Paul Stauffer (Val Baldwin), Jean (Dick Eby), and Shirley (Frank Burris). He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Denlinger, Mary Sweigart, Dorothy Tweed, and brother, Robert Stauffer.
Roy grew up at Stauffers of Kissel Hill where he wore many hats. Under his leadership along with partners, until his retirement at age 55, Stauffers of Kissel Hill grew from a roadside stand to a multi-corporation business. He was involved in his church where he lived out his faith with integrity and exemplary consistency.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice and Community Care Center in Mount Joy, as well as the staff at Landis Homes. The care, grace, and love that was shown to Roy and his family were truly a gift from God.

Christian P. Stoltzfus, 92, of Goshen, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20 after a brief illness. Born March 18, 1928 in Narvon, PA, he was the son of the late Fred K. and Barbara (Petersheim) Stoltzfus.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Mast) Stoltzfus; sister Lydia (Carl) Good of Narvon, PA; sister-in-law, Joy Stoltzfus of TN; three nephews, four nieces.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alvin, Amos, Freddie, and Raymond; one sister, Elmina.
Chris, also known as C.P. Stoltzfus, was known for his interest and writings about historical events. He was associated with the Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead since its beginning.
There will be a public graveside visitation from 9:30- 10:00 am followed by a graveside service at 10:00 am on Monday, October 26 at Clinton Union Cemetery, located ¼ mile west of County Road 35 on County Road 36, Goshen. Friends and family are invited to attend. If there is inclement weather the public visitation will take place at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main St., Middlebury.

Henry U. Stoltzfus, 97 years, 6 months and 20 days, of Munnsville, New York, died at home, September 17, 2020 after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 27, 1923. He was married on November 23, 1944 to Mary Z. Stoltzfus. He was a member of the Madison Mennonite Church.
Surviving are five daughters, one son-in-law, four sons, seventy grandchildren and one hundred eighty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Daughters, Priscilla (Benuel) Morgantown, PA, Linda (Jonathan) Stoltzfus of Somerset, PA, Elsie (Jonas) Stoltzfus of Vernon Center, PA, Mima (Daniel) Stoltzfus of Munnsville, Mary at home Munnsville, NY, son-in-law Abner Glick of Salem, NJ, four sons, John (Linda) Stoltzfus, Lewisburg, PA, Jake (Sylvia) Stoltzfus of Deansboro, NY, Henry (Anna) Stoltzfus of Somerset, PA and Luke (Ruth Ann) Stoltzfus of Waterville, NY. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, a son, Chester, a daughter-in-law, Betty (Petersheim) Stoltzfus, a daughter Anna (Stoltzfus) Glick and six grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Madison Mennonite Church, Stratford Street, Madison, NY, 13402. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the church and burial will follow. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon.

September 24, 1956 - December 9, 2020
Myerstown - Melvin Zook Stoltzfus, 64, passed away in his residence on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sara Ann Flaud Stoltzfus. He was born in Lancaster, PA on September 24, 1956, a son of the late Omar and Annie Zook Stoltzfus.
Mel was employed as a salesman for Rigidply Rafters in Richland, PA. He was a member and retired deacon at Schaefferstown Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Sue Ann Martin and spouse David Mark Martin of Halifax, PA; Sharla Zimmerman and spouse Alton Zimmerman of Stevens, PA; Kendra Martin and spouse Joe Martin of Sinking Springs, PA; Delmer Stoltzfus and spouse Brooke Stoltzfus of Lebanon, PA; Melanie Stoltzfus of Reading, PA; sixteen grandchildren; brothers, Jonas Stoltzfus and spouse Rachel Stoltzfus of Pine Grove, PA; David Stoltzfus and spouse Linda Stoltzfus of Landrum, SC; sisters, Hilda Martin and spouse Clyde Martin of Bethel, PA; Norma Ramer and spouse Doug Ramer of Myerstown, PA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jay Omar Stoltzfus; granddaughter, Joelle Faith Martin; sister, Lavina Stoltzfus.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10 am in Schaefferstown Mennonite Church, 625 N. Market St., Myerstown, PA. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Stone, Rosa Bontrager
January 12, 1925 - November 22, 2020
Rosa Stone, 95, of Elkhart, died at Eastlake Terrace Assisted Living in Elkhart on November 22, 2020. She was born on January 12, 1925 in Dodge City, Kansas, to Enos and Lydia (Miller)Bontrager and married G. Weir Stone on February 14, 1945. He preceded her in death after 72 years of marriage. During World War II she worked for a year in a mental hospital in Rhode Island, along with her husband, who was doing service as a conscientious objector.
Raised Amish, she dropped out of school at 16 years of age and then earned her GED at 30. Continuing her education, she earned two master’s degrees and a Doctorate of Education. Dr. Stone was first a home economics teacher and then a guidance counselor at Brookdale Middle School, then a professor and Dean of Women at Goshen (Indiana) College. She was an avid reader, loving the excitement of new ideas. She traveled extensively, to Europe, China, Africa, and South America. Dr. Stone led groups studying dreams into her 80’s and had a private counseling practice after retiring from Goshen College.
She is preceded in death by her parents a daughter Janet Stone, a brother, Wayne Bontrager and a sister Elizabeth Yoder. She was also preceded in death by her sister and roommate at East Lake Terrace, Fannie Miller, who died November 20, 2020. Surviving are two daughters, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. The daughters are Barbara Stone of Millersburg, Ohio, married to Robert Alcorn, MD; and Cindy Robinett of Mishawaka, Indiana, married to Tom Robinett. The eight grandchildren are Elizabeth (Lamoni) Bryant, Ben Williams, Joseph Micah Williams, Joel (Vicki) Bosler-Kilmer, Sarah Courtemanche, Suzanne (DJ) Boverhuis, Paul (Jen) Robinett, and Mindy (Scott) Doelger. She is also survived by her brother, Leroy (Joyce) Bontrager of Goshen and a sister in law, Donna Bontrager of Goshen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eastlake Terrace for their loving care.
A Celebration of Rosa’s life will be held at later date when it is safe to gather. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stuckey, Valette "Becky" M. Beck, 88, of Archbold died March 3, 2020 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Defiance Co., OH. She was born November 4, 1931 at Wauseon, Fulton Co., OH to Henry and Wilma (Wyse) Beck. She was married to Bill Stuckey, who is deceased.
Surviving are children, Kathy (Neil) Nofziger and Douglas (Julia) Stuckey; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Amy Stuckey preceded her in death.
Memorial services were held March 7, 2020 at Lockport Mennonite Church, Stryker, Williams Co., OH with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Valetta M. “Becky” Stuckey, age 88 years, of Archbold, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 3, 2020, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice. She was born October 4, 1931, near Wauseon, the daughter of Henry and Wilma (Wyse) Beck. She married Bill Stuckey on September 21, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2012. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a wife, mother, homemaker and supported her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed giving of her time by volunteering, visiting and helping others. She served on the Board of Adriel School, Fairlawn Auxiliary, and was a volunteer at Fulton County Health Center, Sauder Village and Care & Share. She was an active member of the Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.
She is survived by two children, Kathy (Neil) Nofziger and Douglas (Julie) Stuckey both of Archbold; six grandchildren, Chase (Molly) Stuckey, Chad (Felicia) Stuckey, Erica (Joshua) Sprunger, Clay (Rebecca) Stuckey, Karla (Jaron) Bernath and Jenna (Nathaniel) Nofziger-Klink: 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rollie (Diane) Beck of Toledo, and Randy (Lori) Beck of Alvordton; sisters-in-law, Helen Short and Dorothy Stuckey; brother-in-law, Paul Stuckey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Amy Stuckey in 1988; and a brother, Glenn Beck.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Lockport Mennonite Church with Pastors Steven Heatwole and Matt Weaver officiating. Interment will precede in the Lockport Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 3-7 PM on Friday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests the memorials be given to Lockport Mennonite Church or CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.

Dorothy Stutzman, 42, of Sullivan, Illinois passed away at 1:31 P.M., Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her residence rural Sullivan, Illinois.
Funeral services will held at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Paul O. Herschberger residence, 1553 CR 1275 N, rural Sullivan Illinois. Bishop Ervin Dean Schrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Timberview Cemetery in rural Sullivan, Illinois. Visitation will be any time after 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 01, 2020 and prior to the services at the Paul O. Dorothy was born December 21, 1977 in Tuscola, Illinois. She was a daughter of Ervin E. and Sara Mae (Plank) Stutzman.

Stutzman, Ervin A.
September 29, 1942 - May 4, 2020
Ervin "Erv" A. Stutzman, 77, of Goshen, Indiana passed away Monday, May 4 at home.
Erv was born on September 29, 1942, in Arthur, Illinois, to Albert J and Saloma J (Shrock) Stutzman.
Erv spent most of his career as a Radiologic Technologist, traveling extensively as an MRI instructor for GE. He also owned a small business which included several laundromats and rental houses. He was a long-time member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Smithville, Ohio.
Erv will be remembered as being insightful, gentle in spirit, and a good listener with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed helping his family and friends. He also had a passion for serving people he did not know through his work with Mennonite Disaster Service. His service with MDS took him to Mississippi, New Orleans, and Minot, North Dakota.
Other passions of Erv's include reading and working in his shop. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time in "the woods" on the family farm in Shreve, Ohio. Family reunions and traveling on vacations were also a source of joy, especially spending time on the beach.
Erv is survived by his wife Welma, and his two children; Sharon Lynn (Mike) Stutzman Hartzler of Rittman, Ohio, Timothy David (Laura) Stutzman of Harrisonburg, Virginia; three step-children, Jeremy Mast of Apple Creek, Ohio, Brian (Cheryl) Mast of Goshen, Tonya (Adam) Kuhn of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Elsie Summers, Susie Stutzman, both of Wooster, Ohio, Verna (Lowell) Bender of Accident, Maryland, Judy (Vern) Herschberger of Lindale Texas; brother, Morris (Dianne) Stutzman of Wooster, Ohio; sister-in-law, Verna Stutzman of Berlin, Ohio; five grandchildren, Lydia (Riley) Hall, Abe (Rachel) Hartzler, Magdalena Hartzler, Lleyton and Langdon Stutzman; three step-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Tristan, and Toby Mast; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Caroline Hartlzer; brother, Eli Stutzman, and brother-in-law, Neel Summers.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16 at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Smithville, Ohio. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to immediate family.
A private family burial will take place at Oak Grove Mennonite Cemetery.

Saloma J. (Hochstetler) Stutzman, 98, of Arcola, Illinois passed away at 8:15 P.M. on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Stutzman Family residence, 421 North County Road 400 East, Arcola, Illinois. Bishop Ervin Plank will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola, Illinois. Visitation will be held anytime after 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the family residence. Saloma was born on July 3, 1922 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a daughter of Joe J. and Fannie E. (Nisley) Hochstetler. She married Eli J. Stutzman on December 25, 1947 in Arcola, Illinois. He passed away on January 22, 2002.
She is survived by 4 children, Barbara Ann Schrock and her husband Alvin of Arcola, IL, Ervin E. Stutzman and his wife Sara Mae of Sullivan, IL, Jacob M. Stutzman and his wife Mary Ann of Arcola, IL and Wilma E. Stutzman, William "Bill", Jr.
October 22, 1943 - April 10, 2020
William “Bill” Stutzman, Jr., 76, of Goshen, formerly of Elkhart, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, April 10, 2020 at home.
He was born October 22, 1943 in Chardon, Ohio to William and Sara (Hostetler) Stutzman.
On June 26, 1965 he married Fern Mast in Middlebury. She died September 5, 2006. He later married Mary Ann Burnett at Clinton Frame Church on February 12, 2011.
She survives along with his children, Sheila (Michael) Terlep of Bristol and Mike (Michele) Stutzman of Sarasota, Florida; step-children, Chad (Tera) Gascho of Middlebury, Vicki (Conrad) Esh of Marysville, Ohio and Kimmie (Jon) Leichty of West Liberty, Ohio; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Stutzman and Mary (Aden) Miller, both of Sugar Creek, Ohio; and a brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Stutzman of Goshen.
Along with his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eli Stutzman.
A long-time area resident, Mr. Stutzman was part owner of Eby Ford for 23 years and owned Michiana Furniture Gallery for 15 years. A collector of bright red cars, Bill was a strong man of faith and enjoyed sharing and spending time with family.
Bill was a faithful member of Clinton Frame Church, memorials may be directed to the church for the Family Life Center.
A private burial will take place at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. A memorial service at the church will he held at a later date.
